Dear future students,

Hello! I’m Oriana and I would love to be your piano teacher.

If you’re here, it means you or someone you care a lot about has expressed interest in learning the piano. Your curiosity has brought you to the right place! The best first step is to find the best teacher for you.

My qualifications? I have a Bachelor’s of Music. I studied the piano and had a concentration in music theory and composition. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2022 and have been playing the piano for almost 12 years. Though I am no longer in academia, I continue to read music literature, focusing on pedagogical writings. And of course, I still love to play my instrument and analyze music.

My philosophy as an instructor? I believe that the path a musician chooses to take belongs to them. By that I mean, it’s okay if you don’t want to be the next Mozart, that’s a lot of pressure. If you start learning an instrument, the goal is not to immediately master the instrument. The goal is not to jump on a stage and win a prestigious award. It CAN be the goal, if you want. But mostly it’s just… a path to take. Piano is a place you go to sit on a bench and pour your emotions out. You face them. You hone a skill. You cultivate your own philosophies about dedication and discipline.

This, of course, would not take away my devoted responsibility to guide you. There is so much I can teach you about the piano — everything from techniques, expressions, and styles to theory, analysis, and history! If you have an interest, I’d love to show you.

The grand path of my life always leads me back to this, to music. To my own piano bench. And to my desire to teach others the benefits of what I have found there.

If all of that sounds like music to your ears, please reach out to me either by email, phone, or my contact page and we can discuss what you’re looking for in your musical journey.

Sincerely and with great excitement,

Your Piano Teacher
